Fort Lauderdale Beach

Homes are situated minutes from first-rate dining options, beachfront bars looking out to the Atlantic.

Welcome to Fort Lauderdale Beach

Endless miles of sandy beaches and clear, warm water.

Spectacular condos overlooking the endless ocean blue, palatial waterfront compounds, and everything in between can be found on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Here, homes are situated minutes from first-rate dining options, beachfront bars looking out to the Atlantic, and other fun nightlife options. The more low-key alternative to Miami Beach still packs punches in all the right places, while still offering quiet strips of white sandy shore to enjoy in peace.

Natives inhabited Fort Lauderdale thousands of years before European settlers arrived, with this region of Florida’s east coast remaining mostly rural until the 1900s. After the commencement of World War II, Fort Lauderdale became a major military base but many servicemen decided to stay in the region even after the war ended. In modern times, Fort Lauderdale is a boater’s paradise, is home to some of the state's most popular beaches, and boasts modern pleasures appreciated by all.

What to Love

  • Gorgeous, never-ending beaches facing straight out to the Atlantic
  • An array of luxurious housing options catering to all lifestyles
  • Bustling cultural scene consisting of great dining options, nightlife, and other festive ways to celebrate life

Local Lifestyle

Fort Lauderdale Beach is one of the cleanest beaches on the east coast for locals to lie out, swim, and soak up rays. The most popular point within the city among both locals and out-of-towners is also home to a number of beachfront hotels and resorts, featuring a wealth of luxurious amenities. Locals often frequent the many spas, salons, and beachfront entertainment venues throughout the week, allowing them to live the resort lifestyle year-round.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

The tropical playground just east of Fort Lauderdale Beach is home to exquisite dining, luxurious spas, and is even reachable via other neighborhoods without having to get into a car. Here, the seaside lifestyle can truly be appreciated 365 days a year.

Botanic at the Goodland is a five-star dining establishment inside one of Fort Lauderdale’s swankiest hotels. This Caribbean-style eatery goes perfect with South Florida’s tropical lifestyle, with succulent dishes of crispy shrimp tacos, red snapper, and pappardelle being some of their most popular menu offerings.

Nearby, Casablanca Café is an oceanfront restaurant and piano bar with a fresh, Mediterranean menu located in the oldest remaining structure on Fort Lauderdale Beach. An extensive renovation lasted over two years with the final project resulting in a vibrantly colored exterior and cozy, intimate interior with unmatched ocean views enjoyed in the background.

The neighborhood is home to several of the world’s most luxurious hotel brands with their own on-site dining, pools, spas, bars, and five-star amenities. The reputation of The Four Seasons Hotel precedes itself, The Ritz-Carlton offers one of the most stunning arrays of luxe amenities, and The Auberge Beach Resort is just one more impeccable option situated on Fort Lauderdale’s sandy shores, having recently opened in 2018 and enjoying a sleek, modern style. All three of these hotels also have residences separate from lodging, so lucky locals never need to “check out” from resort life.

The beach, waterfront cafes, and pool decks are all reachable from outer neighborhoods via the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi. One of the most fun and unique ways to get around also offers annual passes, private charters, and tours to impress even your most discerning house guests.

Things To Do

Of course, Fort Lauderdale’s extracurricular activities center around the community’s waterfront and boating lifestyle. The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has attracted nautical enthusiasts for over 60 years to marvel at superyachts measuring over 300 feet long. In recent years, the boat show has attracted 650 exhibitors, over 720 boats, and held nearly two dozen seminars. The Winterfest Boat Parade, nicknamed the “best show on H2O” is the official kick-off to South Florida’s holiday season. Put on by The Seminole Hard Rock, the festive parade of brightly decorated boats starts downtown and heads down the intercoastal waterways. Fort Lauderdale Beach hosts countless other vibrant events throughout the year, like the Tortuga Festival, an annual beachfront music festival, and Flockfest, a colorful celebration of Pride Month situated on the beach.

Schools

Fort Lauderdale beach offers several great options for education, both public and private. Children here have the option to attend:

  • Broward County Public Schools, prekindergarten-12th grade; one of the best districts in the state boasts high-performing schools along the shore, great diversity, and excellent athletic and extracurricular activities.

  • Westminster Academy, prekindergarten-12th grade; one of Florida’s better private schools places an emphasis on technological education with students of all ages receiving iPads and MacBooks to work on.
